Types of sheet forming
Forming is divided into two types:
Hot forming( thick sheet)
Cold forming (sheet with low thickness)
What is hot forming?
Hot forming is done on high thickness sheets. so that they can make it into the desired shape. Products produced in hot rolling are less popular than cold rolling. Among the products produced by hot rolling, we can mention beam, angle, or thick shaped sheets such as plates.
Adjusting the temperature during hot rolling sheet roll forming operation requires great precision; If the temperature is too low or too high, there is a possibility of destruction of the products. For this reason, only a few factories use the hot rolling method.
What is cold forming?
Cold forming is a method in which the temperature of the metal sheets is not raised much, and due to the low thickness of the sheets, the forming operation is done more easily and quickly. The primary material for rolling the sheets in this method is a rolling pin.
How does the forming machine work?
The forming machine has stations where steel rollers are placed and the sheet is formed by passing through these stations. The presence of rollers in this device causes the sheets to move. In the sheet rolling machine, another operation is performed on the sheets, which is called "punch". This action will eventually create ridges on the surface of the sheet. Since the sheet forming machine has different types, we will briefly introduce them
Heavy forming machine
Light forming machine
Making roll forming
The roll forming machine is used for productions with high circulation and volume, long and narrow profiles, U-shaped sections, complex and special sections, and uniform punches
